Been there, done that! Advice for LiTTLe Dental Babes!

You’ve been there, you’ve done that; during your first few semesters, you totally wished you had someone who was there to warn you about perio breath.

As alum Dental Babes, we feel your pain. We, too, wished we had a book of advice and encouragement to turn to when things got rough. Fear not, our little Dental Babes...DHN to the rescue! We asked and your smart, wise, and dentalicious elders answered ;)

Keep reading to see our favorite bits of advice that our very own Dental Babe Followers, posted onto our Instragram...and even advice from our fav Founder and CEO!; straight from the mouths of babes ;)….

"Ask questions. Take study breaks and time for yourself. Don't stress over a bad grade you haven't received. Be proactive."  -@sabs_._

We agree, you must take time to breathe. You can’t be too hard on yourself. Take a bad grade as a lesson learned, determine how you could have done better and do it next time.

"Make the program your 1st priority, give it hell." -@caitlynatkinson10

Give it hell, they don’t call us Badass Dental Babes for nothing.

"Be friendly to everyone and surround yourself with positive people. There is ZERO room for negativity, it will ruin you. Stay positive. Wine helps." -@e_nugent

We told ya we were gonna give it to ya straight..and sometimes after a really rough day, wine really does help ;)

"Never look back or contemplate. Keep pushing forward because you're going to learn the most the first year you work, and when it clicks is the BEST feeling. It's worth it." –@shelbylo_p

Look forward to that moment everything CLICKS…and trust us, it WILL click.

"Memorize, memorize, memorize, memorize…and when you've accomplished that, memorize some more!" -@tracybakerrdh

Dental babes are know for beauty and BRAINS for a reason. Use ‘em!

"Always remember it's a short blip in your life that you will get through. Always move forward, never put energy into woulda, coulda, shoulda; learn from your mistakes and grow." -@christinaivey_rdh

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Mistakes and disappointment are a part of life, LEARN from them and let them help you GROW.

"Surround yourself with those who have the same positive energy and enjoy seeing one other succeed. Don't cram, study some materials every day. I had a great group of friends that would go to the library every day and pushed each other to do well. I don't know what I'd do without them!" -@valeriekassis_rdh

This is so important. Surround yourself with people who are going to understand your struggles, be there to help you through them and will sit beside you for an all nighter in the library. Your Dental Besties will be there forever, we promise!

"Don’t give up, people learn in different ways. Don’t be afraid to ask for extra help if you need it! Be involved in extra activities provided." –@hhcc404

Do you see what she said there? PEOPLE LEARN IN DIFFERENT WAYS, Dental Babes. DO NOT compare yourself to others, know that YOU can do this.

"Kleenex for your tears, highlighters because... EVERYTHING is important, pens for taking notes that won't even show up on tests, coffee for late nights of studying, booze/wine for when testing is over, and good friends that'll be there for you!" - @rallyracinnolan

Everything about this is so true and straight to the point.  We love this so much and couldn't have said it any better.

--------------------
We love helping and encouraging our fellow Dental Babes, especially those who are new to the DeNTaL BaBe cLuB! We'll leave you with one, last bit of advice from our awesome Founder/CEO and RDH:

Study to understand, not to remember.  Hygiene school will test you in ways you have never been tested.  Physically, mentally, and DEFINITELY emotionally.  (PS: it's okay to cry a little, or a lot, it'll empower you for real).  DREAM BIG dental babes!  Don't let the clinic ceiling stop you.  Go for that bachelors, get that masters degree, try a new sales job, or even save the world in public health.  Take every opportunity that is given to you because you never know where that path might lead.

When you get that RDH, or that DDS, DMD, RDA WHATEVER - it will all be SOO WORTH IT.  KICK SOME DENTAL A$$ THIS YEAR DENTAL BABES. WE BELIEVE IN YOU!
