SIP ALL DAY, GET DECAY – are we right?!


This is especially true in the summers, when we are celebrating warm weather, fun holidays, vacations and for some of us, being off work/school! We know it’s not always practical to make-your-own fancy beach drinks, but we always suggest doing so when you can to prevent coating your teeth in the sugary, concentrated drink mixes! We’re looking for a buzz, not cavities ;)

Well, today is NATIONAL PINA COLADA DAY!; what better way to celebrate than to give you guys our favorite from-scratch, less-sugar pina-colada recipes?!

For a traditional Colada, try out this natural recipe:
  • Ice cubes.
  • 1/2 cup rum.
  • 1/2 cup coconut cream.
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk.
  • 1/4 cup pineapple chunks.
  • Blend it up!!!

This recipe has banana in it, which thickens up the drink and makes it a bit creamier. Check it out:

  • 2 cups light coconut milk
  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 2 bananas, frozen*
  • 1 ½ cups pineapple, frozen*
  • Rum
  • Blend it up!!

& here’s one for those of you who are coco-nutty enough to shuck your own coconut and use the freshest juice possible! 

  • 2/3 cup chopped fresh, young coconut meat or ½ cup shredded coconut meat
  • 1 cup chopped, fresh then frozen, pineapple
  • 1 1/12 coconut water, from inside your fresh coconut!
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • Rum
  • Blend it up!
